Some days, I wake up feeling chilled out. When choosing the soundtrack for my coffee and breakfast making ritual, I like to pick something laid back that will ease me into the day gently. But you know what? Sometimes it’s better to jump in at the deep end before you’ve had a chance to wipe the sleep from your eyes. That’s how I woke up today when I first heard Wheels by Kaleiders. Before I knew it, I was furiously emptying a whole tub of coffee into my mouth and munching on it like Brendan Fraser in the 90’s classic George Of The Jungle. Bit of a niche reference, I know, but that’s precisely what sprung to mind. From start to finish, Wheels is a rollercoaster ride. My advice is that you hold on for dear life because you’re going to press play again and again.
Involuntary headbanging and foot-stomping is an absolute certainty with this alt-rock masterclass. Not only is it exciting and dance-worthy, but it also has a genuinely catchy chorus that would feel welcome on any festival stage around the world. Reminiscent of the best parts of American punk, Kaleiders have combined several brilliant sounds and packaged them into a hugely enjoyable four-minute single that will please rock fans everywhere. We can’t wait to hear what they have in store for us next! For now, let’s enjoy the ride once again.
