I don’t often comment on act names in my reviews, as I think it can take away from the content of the article. However, I have to give a special mention to this next collaboration I’m writing about because when I first read it, I couldn’t help but smile. The name in question is Bone Slim & The Moontown Project, and their new single, Yellow Walls, is a banger. Bone Slim delivers the vocals, The Moontown Project provides the grooves, and together they give the listener fantastic entertainment.
With ethereal synths and a danceable beat, the song plods along at a rate which will induce involuntarily head bops in even the dullest person. A lyrical masterclass, the flows present throughout the track operate at a consistently high level. The song concerns itself with a messy break-up, set against the backdrop of the dreary surroundings that the narrator finds himself in. I can relate to this. Like most people, I’ve had my heart broken and felt trapped in the mundane room that I spent most of my teenage years locked away within. In Yellow Walls, Bone Slim & The Moontown Project shed light on this experience with style and finesse, and I recommend you go and check it out, so you’re on board before their new EP, Mask On The Moon, hits the net.
