The boss has told me that a premiere is due today, and to get the ribbons and glitter out because, by God, I’m the man to tell you about it. By “boss”, I mean Daniel Thomas; the head honcho at Independent Music News who rules as more of a fearful dictator than a manager. I’m scared for my safety, so let’s get to today’s music video premiere, Dark Kid (Ep. 1) by The Green Apple Sea and Wayne Graham.
I don’t know why this video has an episode number attached to it, but I’m forced to believe there’s some kind of Breaking Bad-esque series coming our way from The Green Apple Sea and Wayne Graham. Dark Kid (Ep. 1) opens up with the line: “Satan is my father”, which causes me to throw holy water all over my computer screen. This song is bloody pleasant, it’s got my full attention immediately, and the visual piece doesn’t disappoint either.
It’s visually charming and nostalgic, evoking feelings of the old VHS family tapes that you go back to and smile about, perhaps with a tinge of sadness of times gone by or people who may have left us. The video shows a child in a skeleton mask hanging out with a fully grown man in a satan outfit, teaching him how to mow the lawn amongst other things. It’s got an otherworldly quality to it, and coupled with the beautiful music and vocals, it creates an unforgettable and joyful piece of art that brings on elating thoughts of old memories.
If you watch anything today, make sure it’s Dark Kid (Ep. 1). It’s got that JCB style to it; appreciating your parents and the time you have with them. Watch the video below!
