Few bands manage to combine darkness with pop sensibilities, but it seems Reclaim Vienna sit comfortably in that camp. Their new single, Infamous, is an absolute stomper, and here at Independent Music News, we’re lucky enough to premiere it for you today.
Infamous sounds like the future and the past met in a bar, had a fist-fight, then had a baby. Needless to say, this song is hard to pin down. It’s got an incredible tone that I can only imagine took many hours of painstakingly precise production, and you can feel the love and care with which it was made. Lyrically, this is an impressive piece of work. The concept behind it is something most of us will no doubt relate to, as writer Danny Smith goes after the most irritating type of people; those who refuse to accept any responsibility and apologise. This negative quality is ever-present in modern society, with politicians unable to get through a sentence without pushing the blame onto anyone but themselves. The track also tackles tribalism, which seems to drive both the extreme right and left-wing factions of society. It doesn’t matter what the truth is any more. It only matters that you win. Infamous expertly tackles this subject matter and manages to be incredibly catchy and enjoyable while doing so.
Full of great melodies, powerful synths, and emotive vocals, Infamous deserves to be heard. So go on, what are you waiting for? Check it out now!
