It can often take a band some time to find their feet, and this is understandable. Out there in the strange, uncharted territories of being a musician, mistakes are there for the taking. This is why it’s always impressive when a debut release is as good as Peak by Myster. From the moment the song kicks in, you know you’re in for a ride. Go on, strap in. It’s going to be a bumpy one.
With an incredibly catchy and anthemic chorus, you could easily imagine this one being chanted back to the act by festival crowds all around the UK. It’s a strong, self-assured song that will delight fans along the whole of the indie spectrum. The best bit of Peak is the guitars that sound like they could have been manufactured from inside Josh Homme’s brain.
The Bolton four-piece are releasing their first song at a strange time. Many have raised questions about how music will be consumed and distributed within this new climate. While these concerns are legitimate, I have no doubt Myster will find an audience due to the sheer quality of Peak. Check it out; it’s a belter!
