Premiere: Laissez Faire – Chloe

Posted byDaniel FaganMay 7, 2020Features, New Music, Premieres, ReviewsLaissez Faire

Today didn’t start well. I was rudely awoken by my next-door neighbour buzzing the doorbell in the hopes that I’d received their delivery. Admittedly, this was at 10 am, but in lockdown, we all know 10 am is the new 7 am. Anyway, this made me feel a bit groggy and peeved, but then I heard Chloe by Laissez Faire. Now I feel brilliant.

It’s a wonderfully crafted indie-pop song that makes you want to dance. The lyrics speak of unrequited love for Chloe, and this is an incredibly relatable part of the track. In this respect, Laissez Faire have managed to produce a tune that is both exciting and tender at the same time.

The band have taken the Bristol music scene by storm and performed several impressive support slots with the likes of Indoor Pets, Sheafs, and Gender Roles. This comes as no surprise when you hear a song like Chloe, which you could imagine being sung by crowds of people at festivals around the country. So what are you still doing reading this? Go and listen! You won’t regret it.
