Another day at Independent Music News, another brilliant premiere we get to share with you. This time it’s Koala Club’s brand new single, City Lights.
Having gained a lot of attention from their previous single, No Surprise, the Brighton quartet now have over a thousand monthly listeners on Spotify and are growing in popularity. It’s easy to see why when they produce songs like the masterfully crafted City Lights. From the moment the track begins, the listener is greeted by extremely dance-worthy beats and rip-roaring guitars. The song has a strong core, almost like a heartbeat, and it gets the blood rushing around your body. In short, it makes you feel alive.
The catchy chorus is a highlight and cements City Lights as a powerful indie anthem. I have to admit; I did get a bit sad listening to this tune. All the mention of “city lights” had me missing the pre-lockdown days when you could wander around at night beneath the neon signs of nightclubs and bars with a warm feeling inside. It’s okay though, as I’ve got plenty of good music to keep me going, and Koala Club will be one of the acts I have on repeat.
Check out City Lights; it’s a belter!
