My favourite time of my week has come around again! No, not dialling random phone numbers and saying “your wife knows everything”, or even throwing a beehive through an open window (though I do enjoy both of those things). No, it’s feature o’clock! Urgh, I hate myself. Look, it’s time for a premiere, and this one is a fantastic indie tune called Going Forth by Juan Ledesma.
I start the song and realise I am involuntarily body-popping and doing the robot. What is this? Has Juan got a voodoo doll, forcing me to bop about for his sick amusement? No, it’s merely that Going Forth is a big-time tune, and much like a bank robber who’s got his priorities all wrong, it demands you dance immediately. The track showers you in positive vibes from head to toe, with catchy instrumentals and echoey vocals. Post chorus, another instrument comes into play. It’s twangy and memorable, definitely sticks in your head after you’ve finished the song off. Unfortunately, I’m no musician and cannot confidently say what it is; and I feel like a child who has lost his parent at the playground. Can anyone tell me what this thing is? I want one. It goes “bow ow dow dow dow” if that helps? No?
I’ve been waffling a lot with this one, so let’s try to get things back on track. Going Forth is a very apt tune for the weather we are currently experiencing; the sun is blazing down, and the perverts are out to stare at women who rebut their creepy advances. I listen to Going Forth for what must be the thirtieth time, and go outside, skipping down the lane thinking of Juan. Then I realise I didn’t whack any suntan lotion on, and I immediately break out in a large burn. Thank God I’ve got Juan’s music to help me through this.
Going Forth by Juan Ledesma is out now! Please give it a whirl; I know it’ll plaster a smile on your face.
