Back in May, Independent Music News muso Chelsey Turner reviewed Heat Vs. Light’s second album, Explode Like A Sun, in which she described it as “an incredible work of heart, immense creativity and explosive energy”. I’d be a fool to disagree. Each song is majestic and magical. From the reverberating buzz of Your Science to the bouncer-esque presence heard throughout Jimmy Satan Dances, this Lancashire-based band are notoriously prolific at producing mind-bending sounds.
Not only that, but they create the best music videos too. And today we’re here to share their latest short film, Just The Sound. Animated and edited by the incredibly talented JP Keenan, it focuses on a lone individual, features missiles exploding into flocks of crows, and a city being attacked by Space Invaders. Keenan, take a bow, my son. You’ve created a visually appealing piece of art that works incredibly well with the song.
Before I go, I highly recommend you give Explode Like A Sun a listen. It’s an alt-rock masterpiece of the highest regard, and I’ve had it on repeat for the past couple of months. Love you, Heat Vs. Light. Adore you, JP Keenan. Kiss.
