We’re super excited to premiere the official release of EIRENE’s new single True Love.
From Aarhus in Denmark, the trio have dragged their t-shirts and shorts out of the wardrobe and are ready for True Love this summer. Expect pop, expect soul, expect a concoction of summer vibes and great experiences. This is a song to play while relaxing in the pool having a couple of drinks with your friends. In my case, it’ll be a trip to Blackpool with Granny. I’ll still play this single while we’re eating fish and chips.
Lead singer Kristian Kolby Eriksen best describes the premise behind True Love: “It’s about finding yourself on a beach accompanied by great wine and your chosen one, and just getting more and more drunk and happy about being alive. There you are – promising way too much while trying not to seem too wasted. That is exactly the essence of True Love.”
This isn’t the first song released by EIRENE. Their last single Ordinary Life is radically different from True Love.
More Contemporary R&B than pop, they’re a group that’ll leave you wanting more, but not knowing what to expect next. In Kristian’s words:
“We could – of course – write a great number of safe songs, team up with a really talented and popular producer and then carelessly release these songs – it’s just not that funny. Our songs have been a long time coming, but they’re at the same time the most genuine we’ve ever created. Though this process may be a drag sometimes, these new songs just contain exactly what we feel defines our sound.”
I’m impressed. Not often do you see a pop act leave their comfort zone and jump head first into unknown territories. It’s refreshing. That’s why we decided to premiere their new single on IMN. Not only is it addictive, but it’ll also be your track of the summer. So get your boombox out, put your flip-flops on, drive down to the beach and listen to True Love. If you’re in the UK, get down to the tanning booth. We’re not getting any warm weather this summer.
