Just last week, I wrote about a wonderful song by Home Counties. The track was called Dad Bod, and this title forced me to confront my growing concern regarding the development of a late-twenties beer belly. Fortunately, this fear still hasn’t manifested itself in the physical world. What I’m amazed by is that once again, I have been faced with some Dad Bod media. This time though, it’s a band called Dad Bod, and they’re absolutely fantastic!
The Minneapolis-based group have released a brilliant new single called Elliott. From the moment the song begins, there’s a soothing quality to it. The only way I can describe the effect of their music is by comparing it to a freshly-made bed after a long and tiring day. The track embraces you and takes you on a journey. Despite this refreshing musical style, there is a certain sadness in the vocal that pierces the heart as the lyrics tackle dark and emotional subjects. The act handles these issues perfectly, connecting with the listener in an endearing way that says “you are not alone”.
It’s important that music can still give us something to think about. Elliott is a perfect case of this, and a prime example of why you should go and check out Dad Bod.
