Described as combining “moody indie with pop sensibilities”, Belles are a band that delivers on their promises. Here at Independent Music News, our office Alexa is going to bombarded with requests to play their latest single (out on the 13th March), the dancefloor-filling Pass It On, and we’re excited to be sharing this new belter with you.
Having already garnered deserved praise from BBC Music Introducing and IndieCentralMusic, the Brighton based four-piece have produced yet another finely tuned indie-pop anthem. Pass It On combines the best elements of influences like The Cure and New Order while being refreshingly modern and standing alongside current festival favourites such as Inhaler and The Night Café.
Musically, this is a feel-good song, produced by Jake Rousham at Metway Studios (Nick Cave, Royal Blood). Lyrically, it reminds us not to take life too seriously and to be conscious of how we react to things in the heat of the moment. Hindsight is a powerful thing, and we can forget that from time to time.
Life is a rollercoaster, and if Belles are providing the soundtrack, then we’re here for the ride. We know you’ll enjoy this song as much as we did, so tell a friend and Pass It On!
