About a month ago, I had the pleasure of reviewing the fantastic How Do You Get Out (Of Your Head) by UK/Norway two-piece Belle Sonder. When listening to that song, I was immediately struck by the band’s ability to cut through all of the emotional barriers people place around themselves and get straight to the heartstrings with their emotive musical style. I’m pleased to say that they’ve done it again, this time with their new single, Of All The Things That Make You Happy. Do you know what makes me happy? The fact that we get to premiere this track right here at Independent Music News. We’re a lucky publication.
With ethereal vocals and fiddly guitar parts introducing Of All The Things That Make You Happy, it has an alluring energy that draws you in from the moment you press play. The music builds upon itself again and again, until we’re transported from a pleasant stroll up an idyllic stream to a rocky ride down the white water rapids. Once again, this is an anthem. It has a rare quality to it, in that it would be just as effective in a live set as an opener or a closer.
As Of All The Things That Make You Happy was nearing its end, I was blown away by the incredibly impressive guitar work and powerful vocal harmonies. This is a piece of music that deserves to be played loud, and I suggest you go and do that now. You won’t regret it, and even the neighbours will enjoy it.
