Things aren’t brilliant for the football fans of Norwich right now. Having failed to avoid relegation, the club’s Premier League dreams have been dashed on the rocks once again. I feel for you, but don’t despair! You still have fantastic music. Don’t believe me? Check out Chris Alice, the brand new single by Bag Of Cans.
Everyone loves a bag of tins, and with a name like that, the band has a lot to live up to. Luckily, they don’t disappoint. The DIY noisemakers have a unique quality that is missing from plenty of groups in the modern era. Chris Alice is full of impressive elements, and its three-minute duration will leave you wanting more. With tongue-in-cheek lyrics and a dynamic combination of sounds, the track flicks between funky bop and punk masterclass with ease.
2020 was set to be a year of live domination for the five-piece, with them making it to the semi-finals of the Isle Of Wight Festival New Blood competition. COVID-19 but an abrupt stop to this, but the band have refused to lie down and take it, and thank God for that. The writing process has clearly been somewhat cathartic for them, and songs like Chris Alice are a prime example of why people should keep an eye out for this exciting group.
