As I’m sure you as the reader are fully aware, the world is going through an extraordinary time at the moment. People are, for the large part, stuck at home with not an awful lot to do (aside from learning to juggle), and it’s in these times, it’s essential to have a distraction through entertainment. That’s why we, at Independent Music News, decided to put on a lockdown festival; a virtual event that will feature fantastic independent artists.
It starts this Saturday at noon live on Facebook, with different artists performing up until 8 pm, with the same happening again on Sunday. We will also be asking people to donate, if they can, to the GMV Crisis Fund. Music venues have been hit hardest by the pandemic and will be struggling to get by. We think it’s important to donate to the places that have put on countless shows, brought smiles to our faces and created memories we will never forget, and now is the time to help them out.
